The SAR9 is arguably one of the most rigorously tested pistols ever created. It endured extreme environmental testing, from 130-degree heat simulating desert conditions to -50-degree arctic temperatures, as well as salt fog, high altitude, simulated rain, solar radiation, and extensive fouling tests. Beyond these environmental challenges, the SAR9 underwent rigorous live-fire testing, exceeding 150,000 rounds at the factory, followed by an additional 50,000 rounds by police, and finally, a 90,000-round NATO test against leading manufacturers from Austria, Germany, and the U.S., where the SAR9 emerged as the clear winner. But the SAR9 offers more than just extreme toughness and reliability. This lightweight, polymer-framed, striker-fired 9mm pistol points naturally and is a pleasure to shoot.
